Tradition of construction-assembly plants reaches back to the 1950s when their activities were related to a major post-war electrification in Slovakia. Later most of them became a part of power distribution plants. In the framework of the SSE two such plants existed since 1961 – in Banská Bystrica and Žilina. In 1960s and 1970s they contributed significantly to the energy infrastructure development of the country. Later they prevailingly concentrated on renovation and development of the SSE distribution system.
A joint stock company EEM, a.s. was founded by the Stredoslovenská energetika, a.s. company, being the only founder on the basis of the Foundation Deed of 2 July 2003.
During its short existence the company went through several reorganizations and personnel changes, completed on 1st September 2004 by coming in force of the Sale of a Part of the Company Contract, concluded between the Stredoslovenská energetika, a.s. and the Elektroenergetické montáže, a.s companies. Thus the externalization process of the SMČ (construction-assembly activities) division from the Stredoslovenská energetika, a.s. company was finished, allowing the subsidiary EEM, a.s. to start fulfilling its mission. A new private joint stock company EEM, a.s. (in short EEM, a.s.) came to existence and now its staff operates mainly in central Slovakia. The EEM, a.s. employees give a high quality professional performance and thus continue a long tradition of assembling activities of their predecessors.
Engineering, designing and assembling sites of EEM, a.s. have the qualified staff and capacities to provide services according to the customer’s requirements: from an engineering contract processing and design documentation development, through realization of the designed technology up to the complex supply of a turnkey project. The company uses tested modern technology and technology elements. Construction and assembly groups are equipped with top quality machinery and mechanisms for assembly of power-distribution devices, as well as building and transportation machines. They can operate in any climatic and terrain conditions as independent units. Quality control program is focused on consistent performance controlling. Providing high quality services is a fundamental strategy of the EEM, a.s.
